Trim Saws
Pendu builds trim saws custom to the mill for cutting boards and cants. What determines the machine is how fast it needs to run, how accurately it needs to cut, and the length range it needs to hold.
The starting point is the length range you need to hold. From there, saw head setup and cut accuracy are set to match.
Length: Typically built from 4’ to 20’.
Saw Heads: Configured as two saw or drop saw with multiple heads.
Cut Accuracy: Push-button setworks are available where repeatable cut length is critical, cutting down reset time between runs.
Material: Cuts both boards and cants.
Changing dimensions on the fly: Drop saws have infeed sensors to determine cut lengths. Two saw trimmers have servo-driven power saw positions for cut length changes.
Powered adjust two saw trimmers can adjust between dimension changes without stopping the line to reconfigure.
Knowing when you've outgrown it: A trim saw has a volume ceiling. Once a mill runs past it, the trimmer can't keep up, and a faster configuration is the next step. Tell us your daily volume and we'll tell you where you stand.
