Splitter Saws
Boards are coming off at volume. Every one of them needs to be split before it reaches the stacker. If the splitter can't hold that pace, boards pile up, the gang has to slow down to match it, and a machine you bought for throughput becomes the reason you're not hitting it.
Pendu's splitter saws are built to hold pace with the rest of the line. Feed speed is variable, so operators dial in the rate the material calls for instead of running everything at one setting. Pendu splitter saws run hardwood and softwood, and are configured to the board dimensions your operation is producing. Boards come out center-split and ready for the stacker. Built heavy for continuous production, because a splitter that falls behind takes the whole line with it.
If your boards or feed rates fall outside what's shown here, tell us what you're running.
The configurations below reflect what Pendu has already engineered and built for real production environments.
Variable Feed Speed: Feed speed is variable up to 400 FPM, allowing operators to dial in the right rate for the material running through the machine.
Hardwood and Softwood: The machine can be adjusted to run both hardwood and softwood, making it practical for operations that run mixed species or shift between material types.
Hardened and Chromed Rollers: Feed rolls are hardened and chromed for long service life under continuous production demands.
Running material outside these ranges? That's a build conversation, not a limitation.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a splitter saw right for my operation?
If you're center-splitting boards and the splitter is holding up the gang, or you're doing it as a separate handling step, this machine is built for that. The question is usually feed rate: it has to keep pace with what's coming off the saw ahead of it. Call 717-354-4348, and we'll work through your numbers.
Can it handle mixed species?
Yes. The machine adjusts to run hardwood and softwood, and operators can change feed speed to match what's running without taking the line down.
Can it integrate with equipment I already have?
Yes. Pendu designs to the line that's already on your floor, including what feeds the splitter and what takes boards away from it.
What kind of support can I expect after installation?
Pendu builds and services its equipment from New Holland, PA. Parts, troubleshooting, and service questions go to the same team that built the machine. See After-Purchase Support for details.
