Combination Machines
Running a notcher and a stacker as two separate machines means two footprints, two maintenance points, and a material transfer between them that has to work every time the line runs. On a floor where space is already committed, that's a layout problem without a clean answer, until you take one of the machines out of the equation.
Pendu's notcher-stacker combination handles both operations from a single source. The machine notches stringers and sends them directly to the stacker. When the run calls for un-notched stringers or deck boards, operators lower the top bypass conveyor to route material to the same stacker. No second machine required. Notching capacity reaches up to 7,000 stringers per hour. Stacking capacity reaches up to 25 layers per minute. PLC controlled with touchscreen.
If your application calls for something different, Pendu custom builds to your specific outcome.
The configurations below reflect what Pendu has already engineered and built for real production environments.
Top Bypass Conveyor: The hydraulic-actuated top bypass conveyor allows operators to route un-notched stringers and deck boards directly to the stacker without stopping the line or reconfiguring the machine. Handles material from 28" to 72" long.
Automatic Stick Placer: Two adjustable automatic stick magazines with programmable placements handle tie strip placement during stacking.
Pac Tamper: A pneumatically actuated pac tamper keeps light pine material compacted during stacking for uniform finished bundles.
Stack Lowering: Automatic lowering table with hydraulic actuation, sized for full finished bundles.
Takeaway Rollers: Live roller outfeed running inside and outside the stacker, each section independently driven, with gravity rolls beyond.
Waste Removal: One 12" bottom dust outlet is included. Auger assembly available.
Typical configuration shown. Pendu sizes each build to the material, throughput, and floor it's going into.
Running material or throughput outside these ranges? That's a build conversation, not a limitation.

Engineering Conversation Checklist
The more context you can share up front, the faster Pendu can arrive at a useful recommendation. Helpful starting points:
Production target:
The notching rate and stacking output you need to hit, such as stringers per hour, layers per minute, or total throughput by shift.
Material dimensions:
Stringer and deck board thickness, width, and length ranges you're running, including whether dimensions are nominal or actual.
Notch specifications:
Required distance between notches, notch depth, and notch width for your stringer application.
Workflow mode:
Whether you'll be running notched stringers, unnotched deck boards, or switching between the two determines how the bypass conveyor needs to be configured.
Power availability:
Voltage, phase, and available amperage on-site, since the combination notcher-stacker runs multiple VFD-driven motors across the notching and stacking functions.
Air supply:
Whether you have compressed air available on-site and can meet the machine's pressure and volume requirements at the point of installation.
Existing line equipment:
What's feeding into and taking away from the combination machine? Conveyors, infeed systems, or control platforms you need to integrate with.
Facility layout:
Available footprint and whether your facility has an existing pit or will require the incline conveyor configuration.
