Bar Incline

A bar incline keeps material moving. It takes boards that are already flowing down the line and carries them up to the height of the next machine, one at a time.

Pendu builds bar inclines for lumber lines where flow can’t stop: behind sling and bin sorters, in surge areas after package breakdown, and anywhere one machine sits higher than the one feeding it. Rugged tubular steel framing and heavy WH78 chain, with bars between each pair of chains to carry the boards.

If your process puts lumber on sticks and takes it back off, you need a tilt hoist instead, which takes a full package and releases it a layer at a time. It can drop into the line you’re already running, or come as a part of a complete Pendu line.

Let’s start the conversation

A bar incline is a straightforward machine. There isn't much to decide.

Drive Type: Hydraulic or electric.

Driven Outfeed Even-Ending Rolls: Available on request, for operations that need boards even-ended before they reach the next station.

Surge Areas: Following package breakdown, or behind sling and bin sorters, the incline keeps material flow moving instead of letting it stack up.

Elevation Changes: Where the equipment feeding the incline and the equipment receiving from it sit at different heights, the incline covers that difference as required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Let Us Sort It Out.

Tell us where material is coming from, where it needs to end up, and whether you're running sticks. That's usually enough to tell you whether a bar incline is the machine your line calls for, or whether you need a tilt hoist instead. Tell us what your line looks like and we'll work through it with you.
