Fencing Equipment
Pendu builds for the mills that manufacture fence product, the operations supplying big box retailers and fencing distributors. If you're already making dog ear or split rail and want to produce it faster or at a steadier rate, that's the call we take.
Every machine in this line started as a customer request. Today that includes pointers for dog ear boards and cants, split rail pointers, post boring machines, post top chamfer machines, a manual board pointer for Gothic and French Gothic patterns, and fence post sorting systems.
Three questions cover most of it: how does material come in, what needs to happen to it, and how does it need to leave.
Your Pattern: Dog ear, Gothic, French Gothic, split rail, or something your customer specifies. The pattern determines the cutting head and the machine.
Material Length and Type: What you're running and how long it is. Mostly wood, though we've routed vinyl posts, and plastics are in scope.
Target Production: How many pieces an hour you need, which is usually the reason you're calling in the first place.
If there's something about your product that doesn't fit the description above, that's the conversation we’re built for.
Dog ear fencing: The standard backyard fence board, flat on top with two bevels cut off the corners. Pendu builds pointers for boards and separate pointers for cants, depending on where in your process the cut happens.
Gothic and French Gothic: The French Gothic carries small notches on the sides. The Gothic drops them and comes straight down. Our manual board pointer handles both patterns with a three-wing cutting head, 6” cutting capacity, on a 6’ table with folding legs. It's the one machine in this line that also goes to commercial fence builders rather than mills.
Split rail: The horse farm fence. We bore the holes in the posts and cut the paddles on the rail ends that slide into them. Post top chamfer machines finish the post.
Fence post sorting: For operations sorting finished posts before they go out.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you do a pattern that isn't listed here?
Ask us. Every machine in this line exists because a customer asked for something we hadn't built yet. Tell us the pattern, the material, and the production you need.
Do you work with materials other than wood?
Mostly wood, but not only. We've routed vinyl posts, and plastics are in scope. If you're running something unusual, that's a conversation worth having.
I already make this product. What would Pendu change?
Usually the labor and the rate. Customers call because they want the same product coming off the line faster or with fewer people on it, not because they want a different product.
